Aquatics Director: Chris Richmond

Aquatics Director, Chris Richmond, has been employed by the City of North Bend for 15 years. Chris was born in Coos Bay and grew up in Denver, Colorado. He moved back to Oregon in 1987. Chris has one daughter who lives in the Denver area, and four wonderful grandchildren.

The Municipal Swimming Pool is operated as a special service to the community and offers a full range of aquatic activities from swim lessons to aerobic water exercises. Chris’s personal goal for the department is to offer North Bend and surrounding communities a varied assortment of water activities and classes for people of all ages.

Chris is proud of his staff and emphasizes safety as a number one priority. Although the building is 50 years old, it is maintained with the user in mind and is kept very clean. Chris guarantees, “The pool’s water temperature is a constant 84 degrees!”

RENT THE POOL FOR BIRTHDAY PARTIES, SPECIAL FUNCTIONS, OR JUST FOR THE FUN OF IT. WE ARE AVAILABLE AT SPECIALLY DESIGNATED TIMES AT VERY REASONABLE RATES. OUR PARTY ROOM MAY BE RESERVED FOR CAKE & ICE CREAM, PIZZA, MEETINGS, ETC., AT ANY TIME. CHECK FOR AVAILABILITY AT THE FRONT DESK. 5 SESSIONS OF SWIM LESSONS ARE OFFERED DURING THE SUMMER

A wide range of times are available for all levels. See lesson schedule sheet for more information.

POOL RENTAL
The pool is available for rent for private parties at the rate of $50.00 per hour minimum, which covers up to 20 people and includes 1 Lifeguard. For groups over 20 there is an additional charge of $2.50 per person/ per hour for extras. The Party Room is available at $20.00 per hour at any time, which includes use of TV, VCR, Refrigerator, & Microwave if needed. Great for Birthdays, Pizza Parties, or ???????
