Finance Director

The City of North Bend, Oregon, pop 9,695, a charming southern Oregon coast community is seeking an energetic, articulate professional finance officer to take the City to the next level of excellence in the quest to have the best finance department in the State of Oregon.  Salary range is $59,927 - $76,401 plus excellent benefits.  The Finance Director is responsible for managing all duties and operations within the Finance Department, including payroll, general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, fixed asset management, budget preparation, employee benefits, audit preparation, GASB compliance, and Urban Renewal budgeting and reporting. Reports to the City Administrator and exercises supervisory tasks, such as, training, and direction to the Accounting and Finance staff.   Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or closely related field preferred.  Must have strong interpersonal, communication, and managerial skills, as well as extensive knowledge and experience in municipal budget law, governmental, fund, and advanced financial accounting.  A preference will be given to qualified veterans who apply for this position pursuant to ORS 408.225 to 408.237.  For an application and job description on this exciting opportunity, please contact Joann Thompson, City Recorder, P.O.
